Y otro aporte de David para el blog. Gracias por todo David.

«Ruby Hunter is an Australian singer and songwriter. She is a member
of the Ngarrindjeri Aboriginal nationality, and often performs with her
long life partner, Archie Roach.

Ruby Hunter was eight years old when she was taken from her Aboriginal
family in South Australia and fostered by a white family, while Archie
Roach was three years old when he was taken from his family. Years later
they met at a Salvation Army centre and together they are two of
Australia’s most respected songwriters.

Ruby is a Ngarrindjeri/Kukatha/Pitjantjatjara woman from South Australia.
She says her foster parents Cynthia and Joe were «very nuturing», but she
remembers trying to hide behind her mother’s dress when she was taken from
her Aboriginal family.

Ruby Hunter started her music career as a backing vocalist but soon began
to forge a reputation as a leading performer in her own right. This led to
the release of her first solo album Thoughts Within, the first solo album
release by an Aboriginal woman in Australia.

Her second album Feeling Good saw Ruby named Female Performer of the Year
at the Deadly Sounds National Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Music
Awards. She also played alongside Joan Armatrading, Tracy Chapman, and Bob
Dylan, and performed at the prestigious Brooklyn Academy of Music Festival.»
