» A continuacion les dejo los primeros cinco albumes editados por Engelbert Humperdinck para el sello Decca, entre 1967 y 1969. Estos discos no han sido re-editados en cd, ya que lamentablemente solo se consiguen albumes compilatorios de exitos, muchos con versiones re-grabadas o en vivo, que no son las originales. Todos estos mp3, sacados de los discos originales, y totalmente limpios de todo ruido, suenan como si hubieran sido editados en cd.
Una pequeña introducción:
Nacido en la India en 1936, su nombre verdadero es Arnold Dorsey. A los 10 años se va a vivir a Inglaterra y comienza a cantar de jovencito. Recien es descubierto en 1966 por el compositor y representante Gordon Mills, quien un par de años antes habia hecho lo mismo con Tom Jones. Para lanzarlo, le cambia el nombre, y a fines de 1966, ya como «Engelbert Humperdinck», graba para el sello Decca el tema «Release Me» que lo catapultó a la fama mundial, por ejemplo permaneciendo 6 semanas en el primer puesto del chart britanico a comienzos del 67 y llegando al numero 4 en el chart de la revista Billboard en EEUU. Durante ese año 1967 y los dos siguientes, tuvo 8 hits en el top ten ingles, incluyendo «There Goes My Everything»,»The Last Waltz» (otro numero uno), «Am I That Easy To Forget», «A Man Without Love» (cover del hit de Anna Indentici «Quando m’innamoro»), «Les Bicyclettes de Belsize», «The Way It Used To Be» y «Winter World Of Love».
Estos cinco discos incluyen todos estos hits, y representan el período dorado de este cantante inglés.»
